Throughout this semester I have chosen to focus on fundraising and schools during World War II. Seeing how schools such as Mission Central High School, were able to support the war effort and help the soldiers in the war shows how communities can come together in times of need.
During this time families were doing all they could to be supportive and raise money to send their troops supplies and anything else they needed. With all of the fundraising they were able to do, it greatly helped.
As well, as seen in the newsletters they were finding ways to keep high morale at home, it was very important for the families to be positive and supportive. However, as imagined it was difficult. Through the newsletter, many columns showed how people were organizing events, writing fun column sections to bring a smile to everyone’s faces and keep home front morale high.
